Nigerian/Canadian writer/director Lonzo Nzekwe award winning debut feature film, Anchor Baby is now up on Netflix. Anchor Baby is a story of a Nigerian couple living illegally in the US, and on a quest to achieve the “American Dream” for their unborn child. The film won Best Film and Best Actress awards at the 2010 Harlem International Film Festival. It was subsequently released theatrically in Canada, Nigeria, Ghana and the United Kingdom. Even if you’ve seen the movie at the cinemas, you still have to watch this remastered version on Netflix with some added new edits, color grading.
Lonzo has completed his latest film project, Meet The Parents which was inspired by the song Meet The Parents in the Blueprint II hip-hop album by Jay Z. Nzekwe is also a co-founder, director and first CEO of FEVATV network which is the first black-owned 24-hour television network in Canada.
